Hot and Non-Hot List

HOT

1. Hugh Jackman! A couple weeks ago, the movie "Australia" was on HBO. The only reason I decided to sit through all three hours of the movie was freakin Hugh Jackman! Whaaaaaaat!! So handsome!

2. Wait Wait.... Don't Tell Me! podcast! Thank you so much Paige for telling me about this! I listen to it to/from work and it makes me feel so cool and intelligent and sophisticated and like a white person. Haha. I listen to something on NPR. But now I feel guilty about not giving back. Maybe one of these days, after I've donated to "save the world/cure cancer" organizations, I'll donate to NPR. Priorities people. Curing alzheimers > public radio.

3. Away We Go! Such a good movie! John Krasinski is so good in it...even with a Unabomber beard. It's funny and sad and touching. The movie felt like a collection of short films because each time Burt and Verona traveled to a different city, we would meet different characters with different stories and themes and emotions. And Dave Eggers co-wrote the screenplay! I love Dave Eggers!!!!

4. Sesame Street-themed Google homepages! For Sesame Street's 40th anniversary, Google used Sesame Street characters to be some of the letters in "Google"! I hope you guys have been able to see some of them! If not, I found a link that has all of the different ones, including some that showed up in South Africa, Belgium, India... Sesamestreetlogos! My favorite is the Bert and Ernie one!

5. National Vanilla Cupcake Day! Yes... this holiday, if you will, does exist! And I celebrated by... you guessed it... baking cupcakes! I used Martha Stewart's recipe and decorated them with sprinkles, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, white-choc chips, pink gel icing. So yummy!

6. Up! I remember talking about Up in a previous Hot List, but I want to talk about it again! I bought it Tuesday and Chris and I finally watched it tonight! Of course it made me cry again! I cried more seeing it tonight because I was snuggling with Chris and it was sad and I don't want him to die. But Chris made me feel better by bringing out the Nestle cookie dough I was planning on baking, and together, we snuggled and ate the dough. Even though that seems so silly or gross or whatev, it made me feel all giggly on the inside!

NOT HOT

1. Flu shot paralyzed arm! I got my flu shot a couple weeks ago. Lowe's provided free shots to their employees, and the employees' family were able to get them for $21. First of all, I don't like needles. Second of all, last year when I got my shot, I got a bad reaction to it (fever, nausea) so I was hesitant to getting another shot. Lastly, I'm a whimp and I knew it was going to hurt. But with the LSAT in December, I didn't want to get sick, so I got the silly shot. Man, within a hour, my arm started to hurt really bad. I couldn't stretch, contract, extend. The up side was that the nurse stuck me in my wrong arm, which is my right arm, because my right arm is my left arm. That's right. The down side was that I was wrong-right armed paralyzed for the next day and a half.

2. Getting your hair caught in your sunroof. Note to self: Don't close your sunroof while you're driving on the highway. Your hair is most likely blowing out of it, so when you close it, you're hair will be stuck. You will probably not know your hair it stuck until you resume dancing to Britney Spears. It's then, as you feel your hair being ripped from your scalp, will you come to realize that you should have waited until you parked your car before closing the sunroof. Ouchy.

3. Being a "woman"! I hate Mother Nature's monthly gift.

4. Studying for the LSAT! I'm so tired of doing Logic games and reading comprehension questions. I want to be outside reading all the books I got at the FOL Booksale! It's taking so much willpower to sit at my desk and do practice tests, and not scrapbook, read, Blog, watch DVR shows. The LSAT is 22 days away! Freaking hell!

5. The CDs we have to listen to at work! Barbra Streisand, Michael Buble, Carly Simon, Sting, Andrea Bochelli Christmas, Coal Country Songs (yes... country songs of Appalacian Mtns). One of the only good CDs is Swell Season. Swell Season = Glen and Marketa from the movie "Once". I like that CD.
