Not-So-Hot List

This is my first not-so-hot list.

1. My second-degree burns. Yes, that's right. And I wasn't even in a fire! On Tuesday I had a day off from work and I was just bored and restless. It was a nice sunshiny day and I didn't want to be cooped up inside. One of my favorite outside places is UF's North Lawn, so I packed my blanket, iPod, book, and some snacks and rode the bus to campus. I found a nice grassy place, spread out my blanket and just soaked up the afternoon. It was so nice and cool and breezy that I just lost track of time. Before I knew it, I was in the sun for nearly four hours. I didn't even feel myself burn! My face got SO RED! Wednesday when I woke up, my face was swollen! My eyes couldn't open up all the way! It looked like I was punched in the face, only the blue/black bruises were subsituted for steamed-lobster red puffy-ness. The swelling has gone down, but I still look red and rediculous!

2. No more DVR. Chris returned our cable box yesterday, which means no more recording shows. Now I have to watch the shows when they air and sit through commercials. I loved being able to condense a 2-hour American Idol into 30 minutes! And I loved being able to rewind The Office or 30 Rock and laugh at the jokes again. Now that the cable box is gone, I have no idea what shows are on because I don't have that way cool "Guide" button that pulls up the channel and show listings. It's so pathetic how connected to TV I've become!

3. My period. According to my birth control pill counter thing, it's going to start on Sunday. That's not cool.

4. The music I have to listen to at work. For the past 3 weeks, the store has had to play Johnny Cash, John Hiatt, the Crazy Heart soundtrack, Sade, and Vampire Weekend. I was so excited about the Vampire Weekend, but after three weeks of it, I never want to hear them again.

I think that's all I have to complain about for now.
