Saturday night I finished reading "The Unbearable Lightness of Being", which was my 18th book of the year. I didn't like it. It was too heavy for me. I couldn't get into the characters and the plot and the meaning of everything. Sad. The upside is that I didn't waste my money because I checked-out the book from Borders.
I had a day off today, so I printed off my 40% off Borders coupon and went to the store to buy a book. I bought "You Shall Know Our Velocity!" with my coupon, but as soon as I got home, I saw that I already had the book. Sad. I wasted my coupon. But I did buy "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" with my employee discount! Yes!
This afternoon I finished my 19th book of the year, "Remember Me?" by Sophie Kinsella. It was really cute. I knew how the book was going to end by like page 30, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Had I finished the book earlier, I could have used the 40% coupon on another Sophie Kinsella book. I think I like her as an author.
i have a couple books from sophie kinsella's 'shopaholic' series at home! they were fun to read, but i fell behind with the series. i think they made it into a movie..
ReplyDeleteWe need to compile and share a list of our top ten or twenty recently read books. Then we need to loan each other the books that we have and the other wants to read. I'm just saying. It will be cost efficient, and then you won't have to waste time looking for/buying new books to read... xoxo
ReplyDeleteI think I've read one of her books. It was very lighthearted and a quick read. I wish I had time to read for pleasure now. I don't have anything worthy to contribute to this list. Except for The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls. It's incredible.
