Bad Luck Friday

I've been wearing my little Greek coin necklace thing for a very long time, and to me, it seems as if it brings me luck. I haven't had any really bad luck in a long time... except for Friday. I took the necklace off for the wedding and hastily tied it back back on after, but I guess the knot wasn't good enough because when I woke up Friday it was gone. Let the bad luck commense.
  1. I'm driving to work when my car tells me that my tire pressure it too low. I drive back to my apt and see that my formally flat tire is nearly flat again! I guess JoJo's plug didn't work! Chris tells me that I need a tire replacement (I don't have a spare), so I go all the way to the VW dealership because I have a special tire warranty from when I got DL.
  2. I call work to let them know that I'm going to be late, and I'm told that Stephen never showed up for work and that the store is already short-staffed and that me being late is going to cause some problems. I feel so guilty.
  3. At VW, they said that I'll only have to wait for 45 minutes, so I call Borders to let them know I won't be that late. But VW lied and I was waiting for 2.5 hours!
  4. I planned on having cereal and milk for lunch at work, so I packed my jug of milk. I didn't anticipate my milk sitting in my hot car for 2.5 hours while I waited for my car to get fixed. Gross. So no lunch for Nicki.
  5. I showed up 3 hours late to work. Everyone was already stressed from being short-staffed and having to run around and do five things at once. I felt so bad.
  6. For my lunch break, I went to the Oaks Mall food court. I reached for a napkin but ended up spilling my whole Nalgene bottle of water on me... like all over my crotch. It so totally looked like I peed in my pants! I spent 15 minutes in the mall bathroom under the hot air handblower drier thinger, but jeans are impossible to dry so I had to go back to work with pee-pee pants.
  7. It was about 10pm and the store was empty except for this guy and his friend. This guy looked a bit older than me and while I was doing some straightening up, he would find a reason to come near and talk to me. His method of flirting and stalking was so creepy that I told Marcus about how uncomfortable Creepy was making me. Marcus said that if I needed help, just let him know and he'll come over and do something about it. Whenever Creepy was near me, Marcus wasn't too far, just in case I needed him. Before leaving, Creepy gave me his number and told me to call him when I get off from work so we could get drinks downtown. Creepy's name was acutally Kyle, and I tore up that number as soon as he left. I told Marcus how much I appreciated his willingness to help me with Kyle; he said he hoped someone would do the same thing with Katie. When I told Chris this story, I think he gained new respect for Marcus.

It was such a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. (Have any of you read the kids book "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible No Good, Very Bad Day")
